biomonitoring

This afternoon I participated in a webinar titled “Biomonitoring: measuring the pollution in women’s bodies to build healthier communites.” ?áThese webinars are offered for free on a monthly basis. The?áCanadian Women’s Health Network invited Sharyle Patton to discuss how biomonitoring is being used to help inform personal choice and political engagement.

As some of you may know, a host of chemicals are involved in the technologies, materials and processes that we use in our modern-day lives. ?áIt turns out that exposure to some of these chemicals may be linked to several diseases. The webinar introduced me to the discussion about how to monitor and limit exposure to certain chemicals.?áBiomonitoring is one method.
