About

🌿 Welcome — I’m Tamara Schmidt
Hi there, I’m so glad you’re here.
I’m a nature connection guide, herbal therapist, and creative educator who helps women reclaim their vitality, joy, and inner knowing—one step, breath, or blossom at a time.
Through experiential herbalism, forest therapy, and everyday encounters with the wild (yes, even in cities!), I support you in deepening your relationship with nature—and with yourself.
Because when we remember our place in the natural world, something shifts.
We slow down. We relax. We start to heal.
Our creativity reawakens. Our intuition sharpens.
We come home to ourselves.
🌼 Nature Connection Is My Passion—Photography Is An Offshoot
My Etsy shop, Atelier Fleurbain, grew out of this very journey. The images you’ll find there—flowers blooming, bees buzzing, quiet moments of light—are glimpses of my daily practice of nature connection.

Each photo is infused with presence, reverence, and a bit of joy. I offer them as reminders that beauty is medicine, and it’s all around us.
These aren’t just pretty pictures. They’re invitations to notice.
To feel.
To begin again.
🌎 Rooted in Care, Growing with Purpose
For me, this work doesn’t stop at the edge of the garden or forest path. I believe in giving back to what sustains us.
That’s why I donate 2% of profits to causes that align with my values:
🐝 Pollinator Partnership Canada – supporting the bees, butterflies, and native plants that keep our ecosystems alive
🐾 SPCA Montérégie – a no-kill shelter in Ste-Angèle-de-Monnoir, Quebec, caring for animals in need
I’ve also spent years tending my own garden, participating in local community garden projects, and advocating for pollinator-friendly practices in my region.
🤍 Let’s Stay Connected
Whether you’re here to explore my offerings, find inspiration, or simply enjoy a pause filled with beauty—thank you for stopping by.
I believe that when we reconnect with nature, we reconnect with ourselves—and that even small moments of noticing can shift everything.
You’re warmly invited to stay in touch, browse the latest creations in my Etsy shop, or visit my blog for resources, guides, and ways to work together.

What You Will Find Here
Experiential Herbalism
In experiential herbalism, first-hand experiences create a solid base in our knowledge of plants and trees. First hand experience helps tie together information we gather in books, online, and from others. It’s like getting to know people. The more first hand experience we have, the better we understand someone. Paying attention to the energy of plants helps us make better decisions in day to day formulations and everyday herbalism.
Love for Nature
Resources found on this website will help you strengthen connections with the more-than-human-world, thereby reducing stress, increasing creativity, improving mental and physical health, and relationships. You will find resources to inspire you to take it outside and connect with the world around you.
Art and Spirituality
In my practice of nature connection, I often stumble upon a moment of awe and I may take a photo with my phone. These images carry the spirit of the moment, and often impart joy, love, humour, and beauty. The energy found in these moments inspire my designs on t-shirts, mugs, cards, and other goods found on this website and on Amazon under the store name Fleurbain.
Nature Connection offers Self-Connection
“What does it look like to be the best, most actualized, authentic version of yourself?
Regular interactions with nature can help you understand, accept and love yourself in a deeper way.”

Tammy was trained as a Clinical Herbal Therapist through Dominion Herbal College (2010) and a Nature and Forest Therapy Guide through the Association of Nature and Forest Therapy Guides and Programs (2020.)
